Public Art Chatanooga Project
Public Art Chattanooga (PAC) is pleased to announce The Main Terrain, a new public art project supported in part by an Our Town Grant from the National Endowment for the Arts. The NEA’s Our Town grant was granted to 51 communities across the country in order to encourage creative place making and enhance a community’s quality of life through arts and design. PAC is seeking qualifications from artists/artist teams for a public art Chatanooga project that will result in the installation of interactive sculptures in a new urban park called The Main Terrain in the revitalized Southside district of downtown Chattanooga, TN. Up to five artists/artist teams will be selected for a short-list phase. The artist or team will be paid a $3,000 stipend to be used for design proposal and travel. Total project budget for public art is $210,000. The winning artists/teams will collaborate on a project team that includes the City of Chattanooga, a landscape architect and Public Art Chattanooga.
Public Art Chatanooga Eligibility
Eligibility: This RFQ is open to all established professional artists/artist teams, designers, landscape architects and architects over the age of 18 who currently reside in the United States.
Application Deadline: Applications to Public Art Chatanooga must be received by mail, hand delivery or electronically by October 25, 2011, 4:00 pm EST. No exceptions.
