Mixed Metals Wall Sculpture Installation Instructions

Weights – Sculpture = 70 lbs

Sculpture + board = 97 lbs

Sculpture + board + box = 175 lbs.

To remove from the box

unscrew the top screws along the side that are circled with black

remove the top and save

remove the foam, mylar map, 2 hanging cleats and plastic – save all

inspect the sculpture for damage or any problems

If okay – set the box on the floor, tilt the box up on its side and remove the screws into the bottom circled in black

The sculpture is mounted on a wood board for traveling and standing -grab onto the handles on the board and lift the sculpture out of the box – the sculpture & the board combined weigh 97 lbs.

Lean the sculpture against the wall

save the box until the sculpture is installed and no additional need for box is indicated

Take the mylar map to the installation site

Position it on the wall until you find the position you like best

Tape it in place

With s stud-finder, find where the studs are

Position the top cleat hanger so that at least one of the screws will be into a wall stud

If the cleat hanger has to be shifted to the left or right, making it visible, trim off the visible part with a shop saw or a band saw or a jig saw. It’s made of aluminum and is easily bent – a reciprocating saw might tend to grab it and bend it. File the cut edges

Reposition the cleat hanger – level it – with an awl, poke holes through the cleat hanger and the mylar map to mark the wall

Remove the map – screw the cleat hanger to the wall

Locate the lower cleat hanger position – it will be 25 ¼ inches below the top cleat hanger

Trim the bottom cleat hanger, level, mark the holes with an awl, screw in the screws

Actual installation of the sculpture will be very easy now

Lift up the sculpture – it only weighs 70 lbs

Locate both the top and bottom cleats on the sculpture

Settle above the top and bottom cleats on the wall

Let it set down on the wall cleats

Test that it is secure top and bottom

That’s it!
