“Rotating
Triangles” Metal Wall Art Sculpture
This eye-catching art piece is made from a single sheet of copper onto
which intersecting lines of brass are melted. The patina on the copper is
slowly and painstakingly developed using an oxy-acetylene torch and
various chemical agents. When a unique and beautiful patina is achieved,
it is protected with a clear acrylic topcoat, then several coatings of Renaissance Wax, a durable and
attractive finish. The prepared copper is pounded flat and bonded to a
sheet of furniture grade birch or 1/4" aluminum. The triangles are meticulously cut, one from
inside the other, the edges are finished, then all the pieces are
carefully assembled, one on top of the other.

cut from the next larger size, then rotated during assembly to create an
illusion of dynamic motion.

represents how the totality of life is made up of many complementary parts
which combine to create a spiraling outward energy and movement.
