Dynamic Geometric Shapes Wall Sculptures - Open Designs
These multi-layered, dimensional, wall constructions use techniques that combine free-flowing abstract coloration (patinas) within a context of great precision and design and are inspired by my eclectic interests in spirituality, history and mathematics. The copper is colored with a variety of
processes that create beautiful greens, blues, reds and browns patinas, depending on
the exact process used. Copper is a soft metal, therefore (with the
exception of the weavings) the copper is
glued to 1/2" thick furniture grade wood for rigidity.
The copper-wood composite is then cut, glued and stacked to create the
constructions. All edges are primed and painted black for dramatic effect.

I can do most of these designs for you in 7 different natural colors:
1. Natural clean wire-brushed copper
2. Brass with mottled reds, browns, oranges - flame
colored
3. Natural blue - this is copper treated with ammonia vapors
and salt
4. Natural green - this is copper treated with a ferric
chloride solution
5. Brass with Brown/Rust - this is another natural flame
color but there is minimal mottling
6. Aluminum - clean bright silver color with an attractive
brushed finish
7. Painted - tell me the colors you want, give me paint chips
to match and I will do an interesting abstract painting, mount it on wood and
do one of these wall sculptures for you with the cut-out pieces.
Many of these designs look great displayed in different orientations. Most of these wall pieces are light weight (under 20 lbs.) and easy to install.
These metal art pieces are often used as focal points of interior design in modern corporate settings and upscale, contemporary homes. Weights are reasonable and these wall pieces are easily installed.
